Amos Guttman (1954-1993) gilt als eine der bedeutendsten Persönlichkeiten der queeren Szene in Israel. Als offen schwuler Filmemacher produzierte er dort die ersten Spielfilme über marginalisierte Bevölkerungsgruppen und zu Themen wie Homosexualität, Außenseitertum, gesellschaftliche Stigmatisierung, Liebe und unerfüllte Beziehungen. Sein Geist richtete sich gegen die konservative, israelische Filmindustrie, er beleuchtete die Subkultur der 80er Jahre und drehte bewusst keine Filme für die Massen. Vor allem wollte er diejenigen erreichen, denen es vielleicht ähnlich ging wie seinen Figuren; damit erinnert er an Filmemacher wie Derek Jarman oder Pedro Almodóvar. Der Dokumentarfilm zeichnet ein bunt-atmosphärisches, zwischen New York und Tel Aviv spielendes Porträt des jung verstorbenen Künstlers und gibt umfassenden Einblick in dessen Werk.

Amos Guttman (1954-1993) is considered one of the most important personalities of the queer scene in Israel. As an openly gay filmmaker, he produced the first feature films there about marginalized population groups and on topics such as homosexuality, being an outsider, social stigmatization, love and unfulfilled relationships. His spirit was directed against the conservative Israeli film industry, he illuminated the subculture of the 80s. Above all, he wanted to reach those who perhaps felt the same way as his characters. The documentary paints a colorful and atmospheric portrait of the outsider and provides a comprehensive insight into his work.
